Hello There! Welcome to my digital portfolio. My Daniel Okia,
I am 19 years of age and currently studying BTEC Level 2
Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology (NQF), currently
based at Lewisham college (Lewisham Way, Brockley, London SE4 1UT).
I created this digital portfolio to increase the chance of
getting a job and to collate my work for future use. It will give me an
opportunity to achieve my long-time dream of working for an IT company such as
Microsoft. Furthermore, I will be able to keep a timeline of my work from past,
present to future at my fingertips, finally it will help me to reflect about my
'professional brand' that I am interested in.
My digital portfolio can be a tool for self-reflection on my
interests and goals that are aligned with my learning path/life. It will not only be used to show off my
skills/achievements, but to pick up the interest of employers.
Visitors or employers who come to my portfolio will find
navigation easy, by using the options along the navigation bar to move through
the pages.
The portfolio will have a number of different sections, to keep it interesting for visitors and a way to promote myself to potential employment tailored around what type of work I have previously done and achieved.

My portfolio will have files, videos and documents of my
spreadsheet work and assignments, such as: Database design work, website
design, digital graphics, computer network and other general files which
include copy of my CV and video version of the portfolio. To save time reading as
they will be able to watch everything about my work.
During my studies, I took the opportunity to look for voluntary
work so that I can get the skills and understanding of a working environment. I succeeded in getting voluntary work with ‘Save the Children
UK’ as a customer service assistant for two days per week, during which, I
learnt and developed transferable skills such as time keeping, team working,
working under pressure, attention to detail , welcoming customers and making
them feel valued.
With all the skills I have gained together with my ICT
studies, I believe I will fit in and adapt to any working environment along
with learning new things that will make me an excellent employee.
